Meet Jason Love

Each quarter, we are excited to highlight team members that participated in Branch Out. Branch Out is HICV’s six-month mentorship program with the overall goal to give team members, interested in their own development, the space to gain knowledge and advice from higher-level leaders in the company. This program also allows for team members to connect with people from other areas of the company. A unique feature of Branch Out is that it is a circle structure, meaning for every mentor there are 4-5 mentees that connect as a group monthly.

This month we are excited to catch up with one of our previous mentors, Jason Love. Jason is the Senior Regional Director for Call Center Training and was a mentor for our Spring/Summer 2023 session. We are so excited to highlight him this month and learn more about his experience as a mentor through Branch Out.

The next session of Branch out is starting soon! Applications open on February 26, 2024, so be on the lookout for more information on how you can participate in this incredible program.  The next session is scheduled to kickoff in May with a new group of mentors and mentees who will have the opportunity to talk about important development topics, such as the importance of communication, increasing emotional intelligence, and strengthening your personal brand.

Meet Jason Love – Senior Regional Director – Call Center Training

Q: What were your key takeaways from the program and how has your circle shaped or changed your perspective?

A: My circle of colleagues was exceptional because each came from a different part of the business, bringing in unique perspectives that ignited engaging conversations. This program confirms that everyone has something unique to offer, regardless of department or tenure. Understanding this allows me to observe and ask thought-provoking questions, as opposed to driving the conversation. This approach elevated the quality of our interactions.

Q: What were the most rewarding aspects of being a mentor in this group? How do you feel it impacted your own personal and professional growth?

A: Although we all come from different business backgrounds, we share a common thread. We’ve placed equal importance on our personal and professional growth throughout our conversations. When you invest in someone’s personal growth, their professional growth and sphere of influence also expands because you focus on what’s truly important to them. Everyone wants to be heard and understood, especially in a leadership role, and this realization has profoundly impacted me.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for leaders aspiring to be mentors in the Branch Out program?

A: It’s essential always to be authentic and not be afraid to show vulnerability to your mentees. Be brave enough to share your weaknesses and how you overcame them instead of just showcasing your successes. Being a mentor is a privilege, and putting effort into the content you share is crucial. Being a mentor is about service to others – not self-service.

We are so excited to highlight more Branch Out stories. Be on the lookout for the next quarterly “Branching Out” newsletter, as we catch up with more fantastic Branch Out alumni like Jason.
