and Mental Health Awareness Month!

In 1992, Congress established May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month to coincide with two key milestones: the arrival of the nation’s first Japanese immigrants (May 7, 1843) and Chinese workers’ pivotal role in building the transcontinental railroad (completed May 10, 1869).

Jewish American Heritage Month is a national month of recognition of nearly four centuries of American Jewish experience. Recognized each year also in the month of May by Presidential proclamation, JAHM provides an opportunity for people to learn about and appreciate Jewish heritage.

Join HICV  in paying tribute to the generations of Jewish Americans, Asian and Pacific Islanders who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success. 

May is also a chance to increase our awareness about the vital role mental health plays in our overall health and well-being. Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans’ lives and to celebrate recovery from mental illnes
