Each quarter we are highlighting leaders who attended Leading Within Our Culture (LWOC) regarding their experiences with the program! LWOC is a leader orientation that discusses company culture, our customer experience, and our employee experience. This is an opportunity to learn how different business functions of the company interact with each other, and ensure leaders are given sufficient resources throughout their career.
The next LWOC is scheduled for September 11-15, with 50 new leaders scheduled to attend!
While we gear up for that event, today, we are spotlighting two awesome leaders, Joe Kelly and Abraham Ivie. Joe attended LWOC in August 2022, and Abraham attended LWOC in January 2023. They offer advice to new leaders starting with the company and reflect on their time at LWOC as new leaders within HICV.
Meet Joe Kelly – Sr. Facilities Operations Manager
Q: What was your biggest takeaway from LWOC?
A: My biggest take away was how transparent the Executive Team was, and how much they appreciate the work being done. Also being able to network with leaders from other Resorts was great.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would offer new leaders starting with HICV?
A: Do not be afraid to ask questions!
Meet Abraham Ivie – Manager-in-Training
Q: What was your biggest takeaway from LWOC?
A: I loved learning about how invested the company is in my professional growth. These last four days provided me the ability to network with a diverse group of leaders throughout the company. This brought a diversity of thought to the discussion during the LWOC modules and helped me learn a lot as a new leader.
Q: What is one piece of advice you would offer new leaders starting with HICV?
A: Be open to new thoughts and always look for areas of improvement. Continually research relevant topics to be more equipped to make informed decisions.
