Each quarter, we are excited to highlight an Expansions graduate as they continue their development journey. Expansions is HICV’s six-month leadership-development program for emerging and evolving leaders. Throughout the program, participants have the opportunity to take monthly classes, meet with a mentor, and work on projects to foster leadership development…and that is just the beginning of their journey!
Last month, we welcomed our Spring 2023 class to the Corporate Office to present their final assignments and officially graduate from the program. We also welcomed 32 new Expansions participants as they started on their journey.
This month, we are excited to hear from Nina Interrante, who works at our beautiful Tahoe Ridge Resort as the Senior Manager of Guest Services. Nina recently graduated from the Expansions program and worked with Team Magnolia on a resort inventory refresh project. Nina is also currently a mentee in the Branch Out program, HICV’s six-month mentorship program.
Q: Why did you choose to be a part of Expansions?
A: I chose to apply for Expansions to grow. I also feel it is important to network and meet new team members from all over the company with different backgrounds and roles. It is vital to not only know your area of expertise, but to work with others that can add value by sharing their unique perspectives and experiences.
Q: What are your takeaways from being part of Expansions?
A: What I learned and accomplished during Expansions far exceeded my expectations. Not only was I a part of a major project that is near and dear to my role, but I met team members with so much great insight. In only six months, I learned more about our company and others’ roles than I have in a few years of being with the company. This program has empowered me to believe that I can do anything. I also learned that my dream role may not be the one I actually want to grow into. The company has so much to offer, and I was exposed to so many new ideas.
Q: When thinking about leadership and development, what quote stands out to you?
A: “Be happy…not because everything is good, but because you can see the good in everything.”
Be on the lookout for other rising leaders, like Nina, as we continue this series spotlighting our leadership development program graduates.
