Expansions is a six-month leadership development program for emerging and evolving leaders that uses self-study assignments, mentorship, and real-life projects to foster leadership development. Each month we’re highlighting team members who are continuing their development journey and chasing their career goals. This month we caught up with Daisy Vaught . Daisy is a Sr. Manager of Collections at our Corporate Office in Orlando, FL. and she was one of our evolving leaders from our most recent graduating class this past October.
Daisy and Kenny Nieves (pictured above), another Expansions Alumni, both worked for Westgate & met back in 2004. Each came to work for HICV at different times, both started as entry level phone agents and were recently promoted to Sr. Managers for the collections department.
When asked ‘why did you choose to be part of Expansions’ this is what Daisy had to say:
I love hands-on learning, solving a problem, and working with and learning from people so the Expansions program was right up my alley. How could I miss the opportunity to take advantage of what our awesome company has to offer?
What are your takeaways from being part of Expansions?
Too many takeaways to narrow it down to just one. The mentor/mentee experience was one of my favorites. What an exhilarating vote of confidence knowing my mentor and I are driven with the same passions to lead with care for our team members. My mentee turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Jasmine is one of my hires who transferred to Orlando Breeze resort and excelled in her role, so proud of you Jasmine Lee!
Meaningful conversations are very empowering, so empowering that we have all agreed to continue our meetings beyond the program.
Our culture is like no other and in my opinion, our culture is the backbone of our business. The program was organized and the teams’ attention to detail and support was amazing. I met some wonderful leaders driven by the same passions and desire to grow our brand.
Team Sequoia you rock! I will forever cherish the relationships we built through this program.
