In today’s day and age there is a constant battle for our time and energy. Whether at work or home, we all have tasks and responsibilities that must be completed. At times, our to-do list can feel overwhelming and can cause us to experience analysis by paralysis. Or in other words, not accomplishing anything because we have so much on our plate! If it ever feels like there is just not enough time in the day, we must find a solution to manage our time so that we are prioritizing our lives effectively and accomplishing our goals.
If you’re tired of trying the same old time management tools and techniques that never seem to stick, you may want to attend one of the Academy of Learning & Development’s Time Management workshops. Lucky for you, this course is new and improved and now is the perfect time to join us!
Throughout our Time Management course, participants are not only equipped with several time management tools and resources, they also learn the root cause of time management challenges. From disorganization to stress, many factors can affect our ability to manage our time. In fact, studies have shown that reducing stress levels can improve the brain’s ability to process information more efficiently. This in turn can help us thoughtfully plan out our day’s agenda, ensuring all that we must achieve gets done.
Much of this workshop focuses on the importance of prioritizing and delegating our tasks in order of most to least important. Sounds simple, right? Not as easy as you might think. In the class, we introduce the Franklin Covey Time Matrix model which enables us to categorize our to-do’s into four quadrants: Tasks that are urgent and important, not urgent but important, urgent but not important, and not urgent and not important. Some of those tasks that seem like a priority at first glance, might not be as important as we think they are. Looks can be deceiving!
Through activities, videos, and group discussion, participants will walk away from this course feeling ready to tackle all that the day may throw their way. By attending, you may just realize there are enough hours in the day!
