Meet Kristen Pughe and JL Suarez

Each month we are talking to different leaders that attended Leading Within Our Culture (LWOC). LWOC is a new leader orientation that enables leaders to better understand the different business functions that interact together to create a memorable customer and team member experience. This is an opportunity to network, talk with executives, and learn more about our business and culture.

This month we are highlighting two extraordinary leaders, Kristen & JL. Both attended LWOC in 2022. They offer advice to new leaders starting with the company and reflect on their time at LWOC as new leaders within HICV.

Meet Kristen Pughe — Marketing Strategy Manager

We asked Kristen what her biggest takeaway was from LWOC and she had this to say:

My biggest takeaway from LWOC was learning more about our business and how the departments within the organization work together. I got to meet leaders who support unique functions of the business across different locations, and I was able to see how our work supports one another and our guests. It was an “a-ha” moment where I thought, “Oh, so that’s why I do X,” and “When I do X, it impacts X.” LWOC showed the value and significance of each and every position we have within Holiday Inn Club Vacations.

What is one piece of advice you would offer new leaders starting with HICV?

One piece of leadership advice I’d offer to a new leader starting with Holiday Inn Club Vacations is to never stop investing in the culture and be an active participant with it! I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see the amazing job our organization does across teams to instill and strengthen our team culture. It truly sets us apart from other companies, and forging stronger connections with your co-workers makes you happier and more productive at work!

 

Meet JL Suarez — Senior Manager: Corporate Insights, Analytics, & Data

We asked JL what his biggest takeaway was from LWOC and he had this to say:

The true passion and honesty our senior leadership team possesses to help us all lead the right way. Also, the fact that HICV Inc. is dedicated to keeping our culture alive and well throughout all aspects of the leadership journey.

What is one piece of advice you would offer new leaders starting with HICV?

Always be willing to adjust your own perceptions and put yourself in the teams perspective when making any major decisions. Also, do not be afraid to delegate, they are ready and will crush it!
