Celebrate Juneteenth Virtually with BlkFreedom.org

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the U.S. After the Senate recently passed a bill by unanimous consent, Juneteenth is expected to become a national holiday (note: it will officially become a national holiday once the House of Representatives also passes the bill and President Biden signs it into law).

In honor of this holiday, BlkFreedom.org is hosting a virtual program, Juneteenth: Lift Every Voice. The program will feature segments from 10 different museums located across the country, including the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, National Civil Rights Museum and Northwest African American Museum. From interviews and virtual tours to musical performances and poetry readings, the program will offer a variety of content that educates viewers about the importance of Juneteenth and celebrates African American culture.
