Expansions is a six-month leadership development program for emerging and evolving leaders that uses self-study assignments, mentorship, and real-life projects to foster leadership development. The Academy of Learning and Development is currently in the process of gearing up for the next Expansions class starting in April. Expansions applications are currently open and will remain open through February 17th 2023, for team members that have at least a year with the company. Each month we’re highlighting team members who are continuing their development journey and chasing their career goals. This month we caught up with Jessica Voogd. Jessica is an Assistant Manager of Facilities and Maintenance at our beautiful Desert Club Resort, and she was one of our emerging leaders from our most recent graduating class this past October. She was on team Palm and worked with the rest of the team to provide recommendations on the Leader Onboarding Journey.
When asked ‘why did you choose to be part of Expansions’ this is what Jessica had to say:
I am always looking for opportunities to grow with the company, Expansions was a good program to start with. I have spoken to team members who have also completed the program and they recommended it as a good start for me.
What are your takeaways from being part of Expansions?
I learned a lot about being a leader and to get out of my comfort zone a little. Networking with many different team members throughout the resorts was a great experience as well.
