“Don’t compare your life to others. There’s no comparison between the sun and the moon, they shine when it’s their time.”
– Maxime Lagace
The Academy of Learning and Development is excited to announce that applications for the next Expansions class, open this month on January 17th and will remain open through February 17th. Those interested in applying can find out more
about this six-month leadership development program by attending a virtual info session or going on to the Expansions portal.
To kick off the New Year, we are excited to feature Teri Cross, one of our recent Expansions graduates as she reflects on her Expansions experience.
When asked ‘why did you choose to be part of Expansions’ this is what Teri had to say:
I wanted to be a part of Expansions to expand
my knowledge base and become a better leader for my team. My previous
experiences with leadership courses offered at a company from my past life were
little more than 30-60 minute classes to talk about a book that not everyone
read. I was really excited about a 6 month long program that offered multiple
ways to learn and grow.
What are your takeaways from being part of Expansions?
In opening week the Evolving Leaders took a class and received books for The 4 Essential Roles of Leadership. The very next week I was implementing those tools with my team. I empowered the team to come up with our department’s Mission and Vision statements. I have continued to use this book to get our team more engaged in what it is we do and how what we do affects the teams around us and the company as a whole. By being part of Expansions, I was able to vastly improve the productivity and engagement of my team. What we have been able to accomplish together has been noticed and praised by the teams we work the most closely with. I am so proud of what the team has been able to accomplish and I owe it all to Expansions. Each and every class or training that I took was immediately applied to my day to day corporate life and has greatly impacted my team in the most positive way. There are so many other things that I could say to promote Expansions, but I am most proud of becoming the type of leader my team has needed.
Be on the lookout for other rising leaders, like Teri, as we continue this monthly series spotlighting our leadership development program graduates.
